What to do if iMeme attacks you
Enjoy a hot dog or two as ROFLCOPTERS laugh you into OBLIVION!!!
edit: I saw how a few people came up with "conquest procedures" or "employment contracts" and such, but I don't really like to lock myself in with what I will do. I make the decision that furthers my goals, short and long term, and leaves me with a no-lose situation. But if I do go to war, I don't plan on making it last long.
And I'll use my victories to increase my versatility by adding other people's units to my army. Will I utterly obliterate your side? Probably not, I'll see if I can leave you enough to restart somewhere else. I'm not a cruel warmonger. Just a side that's making a name for itself.

How about succesfully lead a brilliant defense and counter-attack, destroying their entire army?

I'm sorry to hear you enjoy pointless endeavors. For your own sake, please try and do things that actually have a chance of success!

"The foolish should listen to their own advice."

And yes, you're right. I should be realistic. How about:
succesfully lead a brilliant defense and counter-attack, destroying their entire army, and then sweep onwards, using a masterful strategy to overtake all their cities.

Signs point to no. The previous statement had a .1% chance of succeeding, whereas this one has a .0000000001% chance. You're going the wrong direction. (I had Parson do the calculations)

My knight's juice will be loaned out to sides in need, and my pirates will craft any item within our power to create for you!
Note: any of my units croaked while carrying out their duties will incur a penalty of 10*upkeep. Failure to pay will result in severe penalties.
Shockamancy:
Beacon Traps: 100 per hex trapped/trap
tubgirl trap: 200 per trap
lightning trap: 300 per trap
Chain lightning trap: 1000 per trap
Anti-air tesla: 150 per use
Lightning: 200 per use
tubgirl: 100 per use
Flash: 200 per use
stormcall: 200 per use.
Chainlightning: 500 per use
Rhymomancy:
Talent Show: 300 per stack
DJ: 1000 per use
Campsong (check for availability in general and on desired turn): 800 per use
Check for availability of other mancies, and about long-term hires, with per-turn payment and full use of all juice.
Fabricated items: for orders of over 10 of one item, discounts of up to 20% are available. Arrangements need to be made for item hand off. (note: fabricated items do not add to upkeep, but permanently increases stats as long as it's equipped. In the long term, fabricated items are a bargain).
+1 item= 300 3 turns (800, 1 turn)http://newerf.ephpbb.com/post?p=688&mode=editpost
+2 item= 600 3 turns (1200 1 turn)
+3 item= 1000 4 turns (1500 2 turns)
+4 item= 1400 5 turns (2000 2 turns)
+5-10 items= custom rates apply
+10
all costs are the upkeep for the number of fabricator(s) to do it in less than 6 turns, plus gratuity. Rushed jobs are more costly, and are depicted by the number in parenthesis. Discounted prices are available for orders expected to take 6+ turns. This does not include time added because of large orders, but if the item itself will take 6+turns. If you make a large order of items that will take 6+turns apiece to make (not, this does not mean it will take 60 turns to create an order of 10, simply that the workers assigned will take 6 turns), then the discounts stack. Ex: you want 10 +6 weapons done in 10 turns. I assign 2 workers to each weapon. The items are done in 10 turns, and you get a discounted price of 2250 per item

Re: What to do if iMeme attacks you
There was actually a fairly long discussion on fabricated items a while back, the conclusion being that each +1 added 5 upkeep to a unit, as if adding a special to basic Infantry.
I believe it was in the Rules Suggestions thread, which is long so really no need to go through the whole thing. I'll find the relevant posts in a bit.

Re: What to do if iMeme attacks you
That doesn't make too much sense though, as I'm already paying for the special, and for the unit's upkeep to create the item. Meh, might have to change my side again. If that is the case, then units with the fabrication special are expensive to be effective (need a lot of them to make things quickly), plus the expense incurred by the items themselves. Not exactly advantageous.
Meh, I'll probably end up keeping it anyways. It does balance it, though I think maintenance should only apply when it's being used, but you can only equip it or unequip it on your turn, not both. Therefore, you won't have people exploiting it by putting it on for their turn, then taking it off before the turn's end.
Also, just putting a plug in for fabricator units being able to make simple/less than simple specials. For example, maybe not full terrain capability (which provides combat boosts and no penalties for terrain), but maybe simply terrain traveler (negates penalties of moving on terrain). hiking boots for mountains, Winter clothes for tundra, raft for water, etc. Maybe it would be a +1 bonus. Some simple specials seem like it would make sense for fabricators to make, like toxin or seige (poison and battering ram respectively).

Actually, I have a better idea. Each city has an armory to store items where they don't offer any bonuses and don't have upkeep. When they are taken out of the armory, they incur upkeep. If your city is attacked, you have to spend 1 battle round per +2 to equip the items from the armory.

Re: What to do if iMeme attacks you
Reginald, I actually agree with your initial response. You already "pay" for the special, and spend the upkeep/time to pop and use units with fabrication. Plus there is NO cannon basis whatsoever for items increasing upkeep.
This might seem overpowered to some, but really its just a given play style. A side that decides to get a Fabricator unit is spending resources to do so, and is passing up other specials and points.
